Pilgrimage to Scherpenheuvel 

 

Every year, on the last Saturday of August or the first of September, we go en route to Scherpenheuvel with the cathedral family.

 

Travelling with others has a profound effect on people. You get to know each other better. You talk about things that would not otherwise come up. You discover that you are part of a larger family.

 

 

 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

 

On foot

Departure: at 9 am from Averbode Abbey for a 10 km route.

You are expected to make your own way to Averbode.

If this is not possible, please contact us.

Bring your own picnic or discover a nice restaurant in Scherpenheuvel.

This offer is free of charge.

 

 

By coach

Departure: at 10.30 am at Ernest Van Dijckkaai (at the De Rede museum opposite the Steen)

We will return here in the evening around 7 pm

Cost for transport: €20,-

 

 

 

By your own means

If you are travelling to Scherpenheuvel by your own means, please arrive at the reception at 12.30 pm

To register, please send an e-mail to parochie@dekathedraal.be,

stating your name, address, phone number and your preferred mode of transport.

 

If you take the bus, please pay the right amount to bank account BE28 4098 5645 9120 of 'Parochiale Werken, Kathedraal Antwerpen' or hand in the payment in a sealed envelope at the Rectory/Pastorij, St.-Pietersstraat 1, 2000 Antwerp,
